narrative report

Multi Stranded
Multi stranded films are films that follow more than one story lines at the same time. an example of this is Hollyoaks. it doesn't focus on solely one character, it focuses on different family and friends all at the same time in one episode.

Realist Narrative
Realist narrative is a believable story that maybe based on a true story. Realist narratives are used by displaying believable scenarios for example a middle eastern or man living in the city. this could be effective because it can cause the audience to feel emotions towards a character in the film, as they feel like it could be real life.

Open Narrative Open narrative is when they have many characters involve and as no sense of ending. This use in sops such ‘EastEnders, Holby city and Hollyoaks’ this are soaps that does not have an ending, due to this the story builds up when progressing further into the film. This makes I more interesting to watch.

Linear/Non linear Narrative Linear narrative is when you follow a straight line starting from beginning right through to end. A linear narrative are really simple and easy to follow. For example ‘Finding nemo’ simple story that anyone can follow ‘Finding nemo’ starts up with simple beginning and a simple ending. A linear narrative usually attractive younger generation. This is because it is easy to understand. non linear often follow more than one character.
