She - short film - final cut

  1. Sound does not extend beyond diegetic camera audio though balanced well across shots. Narrative is clear and a confident sense of flow in the keeping continuity, though lacking flair in match on actions and pace. A competent edit suitable to the brief.

Pass The group portfolio is incomplete and does not include all of the techniques that were listed in the brief, however the individual contribution is a Pass, although some terminology is not spelled correctly "Shot Verse Shot".
The timeline has some explanation of the development of techniques and principles of film editing across Early to Modern and some reference to the work of Tarantino and his use of montage with an example. Montage vs Continuity or Discontinuity is not explained or compared, but there is some explanation of purpose. (Pass)
Video Guide Section 2 was submitted to compare the development of early and modern techniques with contemporary editing in Nolan or Tarantino’s work or why continuity became the dominant form. https://youtu.be/0XEeUeYLuJo

P2, M2, D3 M Most steps have been followed to a standard approaching professional practice working independently within a realistic time constraint. A mostly complete editor’s log to demonstrate competence to a Merit level of understanding why preparation for editing is necessary (understanding of bins, reviewing rushes and logging), Bins complete, Shots Logged most good or bad and most types and an EDL generated.
P3, M3, D3 M The thriller narrative sequence has been edited to produce a preliminary rough cut, then a 5 minute short film. The edit was completed to a realistic timescale under controlled conditions and the student worked in a manner approaching professional standards. Sound does not extend beyond diegetic camera audio though balanced well across shots. A large variety of shots follow the action and the Narrative is clear and a confident sense of flow in the keeping continuity, though lacking flair in match on actions and pace. A competent edit suitable to the brief.
