Evaluation of Short Film

In the report I will be detailing the process I went through managing and organising my one minute short film. One of the thing I have learn is that it is important that you have all props ready for the short film that you want to film, without the correct props I believe it takes away from the true vision of the film. Another thing I have learnt while shooting my one minute short film is that is important that you have a contingency plan in case something goes wrong for example when you are doing a recee, if something happens and you are not able to shoot at that location you may find yourself in a difficult position.

At the beginning of our pre-production the roles was divided between everyone on the production team and everyone knew what their roles were and what they had to do.
Our shooting schedule was completed roughly around the times we were given permission to shoot on our locations that we were able to secure by us calling up the owner of the site and booking. The  times we agreed on worked well for us which made our shooting schedule very realistic and easily able for us to work around and it was detailed as we had what times and how many hours we will be shooting and at what location it also contained the materials required for us to carry out our shoot efficiently also our shooting schedule had contingency plans as well included in it in case we needed to do re shoots or pick up shots and also contained who was needed present and also what materials and times we will be doing so. One weakness we had was that the story board and shot list wasn't completed early enough so that set back the shooting schedule as it needed to have the shot list numbers of the shots that we were going to shoot on specific days and that couldn't be done until the shot list was ready and completed.

Our storyboard was detailed enough to cover a 1 minute short film  however if revised upon it would be able to cover a 5 minute short film, the storyboard had to worked on in stages because it wasn't detailed enough the first time around. Also it had to be worked upon because the idea had changed from the original one. For the most part of our shoot, things went according to the story board but we had to change our location at the last minute as the original one we wanted to use was unavailable at the time. The storyboard was very meaningful and help us to carry out parts of our shoot effectively and the storyboard was done in such a way that we could easily followed the only problem was that the story board didn't contain the rule of thirds but the camera operator was able to work around the camera to produce the rule of thirds on the screen of the camera that made us shoot but overall it was a good story board it made it clear what directions the characters were walking it was easy for someone who doesn't know about the production to walk on the scene and will understand the whole concept by just looking at the story board.

The taken list contained comparative information including the shot types and the shot list was also mirrored on the filming script which managed to get easier for all of us as we understood what taken we were likely to use by looking at the filming script  which refereed us to the shot list where almost all of the info, the other plus side to the filming script was that it also helped out in how exactly we were heading to create the images there by conserving us plenty of time and we're able to also get back to the shot list if we were caught up for example we were at the place and we wished to do an establishing shot and other pickup pictures and we didn't genuinely have a concept of what structure of shots to utilize however when we viewed the shot list it provided us the pictures and compositions that people were designed to us for our establishing and grab shots. Towards the finish of our blast we'd to twitch our shot list because one in our locations that people were designed to use was called off and we'd to improvise and use the new location that people got, after that overall the shot list was good and incredibly effective.

When picking right up our location we investigated various things that will make it problematic for us to film in those locations that have been lightning and history noise,  first of all we could actually secure the permissions to take on each location that people used which managed to get possible for us to take because we didn't have an instance where we were kicked off a certain location because we didn't possess the permission to capture there, we also consider the sound element in our locations especially in the place we knew that people would look at a lot of sound from the coach and pedestrians walking by so we made our script so that we averted dialogue and anticipated compared to that we didn't use the audio from the initial video footage from the place but ion any office in other to include some realism to it we used the audio from the initial footage since it was more quite and the audio could be easily found by the camera also we'd our own lamps system which we didn't have initially and ruined our first capture because the light at work was ridiculous as well as the lighting from the place  so we'd to re do those images.

We could actually secure celebrities for our t-shirt film through the pre-production techniques and could encourage them to complete all the documents required plus they were ready from the role that these were given however when it got development levels we couldn't utilize them because these were active on the week of the filming doing examinations therefore we'd to improvise and we made a decision to choose two different people between your group who could work plus they both performed the role that these were allocated to correctly well largely because we'd the primary notion of the brief film already thought and what character types were designed to do. Because we acquired an early observe that our actors will not be able to react those elected between our team experienced a day to rehearse and also we'd an undesirable shot and we'd to re throw the first little bit of the brief film which provided them more experience in what they are simply designed to do because they have got did it before and seen places that they made flaws it was much easier to correct.

Inside our group before we started out doing anything we managed to get clear what everybody's role was and I the creation manger ensured that everyone do what these were designed to do and through the pre development process everyone performed what these were in a position to and also during creation everyone needed responsibility with their assignments in other to ensure that people met our set in place deadline.

We could actually get all the gear that people needed except the light pack that your institution ran out of but we first got it prior to the end in our blast, for our camcorders to ensure that they don’t go out of life we'd two battery packages and a charger to impose the consumed battery as the we use the other we performed the same for the lightning load up and we ensured our tri pod was working correctly fine. We checked the battery life whenever we set up to shoot and also during shooting. We also ensured that the camera and other equipment were working properly fine before we used them inside our shoot.

The decision sheet was quite effective which made us really know what time to access our locations looked after made sure that folks were there promptly looked after help the staff to addressing the locations as it also possessed the locations and pictures of the precise located area of the locations on the map.

Also the decision sheet covered the figures and the email messages of the staff members which managed to get easier for all of us to contact the other person or go away across information. The decision sheet managed to get a list of guidelines for all of us to really know what equipment we needed and if indeed they were on collection as well as the people needed on place as well and managed to get that everyone and everything was present at the set in place.
